Doppler Drama

After playing with Doppler 1.1 and 1.1.1 for a while, I’m not overjoyed. It all looks good, but doesn’t seem to be working all that well. I could only add a couple of podcasts before it just started entering blank entries instead and not checking them. The only way I could then add addresses was to create an OPML file, add the feeds to that and then import the list. The tagging feature doesn’t work, which is probably the most important thing I wanted, as I have a smart playlist containing all tracks with the genre=podcast and play count=0 which only contains the stuff I haven’t listened to. I’m also not sure that it is downloading everything like it should. There has been a couple of times when I am sure that a new Dawn and Drew or Source Code has been posted and it hasn’t picked it up. I’m pretty sure that I’ll go back to the old version, or try to get iPodder working, which is a pity, as I quite like Doppler. Next version, though, I’ll be sure to try it out. Maybe I should offer to beta test 1.2

Feedreader is also cracking the sads with me and caused me to lose all 100+ feeds that I had going on. That hurt. Maybe I’m allergic to RSS.
