More December dumping

Date December 11, 2004

Here’s another dump, seeing as I seem to be incapable of actually posting anything of note when it actually happens.

Work is still flat out. At least El gets back on Monday, so I can give her work back to her and take it off my workload. Everything is starting to gear down towards Christmas at the moment, but it just means that I’ll have to have stuff organised for the two weeks I’ll be out of the office. Monthly publications still have to come out monthly, not one-month-and-two-weekly, unfortunately. Plus everything else that is going on. I took on a new system test today that will add an hour or so to my day each day for the next month. Just what I need when I finally decided to get started on arranging the new proofing system we will be moving to. Note to self, must learn to say no.

Friday night spent at home. It’s weird seeing the others and how things change. As the only single in the house after being with H for so long, it’s a bit strange watching the others come and go while staying here myself. Can’t say I’m all that interested in changing anything, but it’s on my mind all the same. Ly has got me pegged. I wasn’t going to mention it here, as I’m not sure who is checking, but while at the Bier Cafe last week, and under the influence of a few, she was saying things. deleted. She hasn’t mentioned anything since, but I’m waiting for it next time we’re out. I still don’t know what to say, she can probably see right through the fun I have with her about it.

Still haven’t done any Christmas shopping yet. Something tells me it is going to be a last minute dash yet again. As usual, H is proving to be the hardest to buy for. Ly and L, who I have in the two Kris Kringles should be fairly easy; alcohol is a good solution. Mum and dad shouldn’t be too hard either and I can just ask J what he wants/needs. Still, need to get started.

Went to K’s last night after work in an attempt to both fix her phone to sync with her pc and to set up her iPod to work with it as well, after being linked to her Mum’s in New York. Got the iPod working no probs, thanks to PodUtil, but the phone is proving to be a royal pain in the arse. Thanks a heap, Samsung, for making things difficult. I mean, c’mon, who uses a bloody serial port anymore?? K had bought a pair of in-ear heaphones for my iPod as payment. They are about $60 here for a set, and even though she had them sent in from New York, they still would have cost a fair bit. That’s why I’m going to get the phone worked out if it’s the last thing I do. Thanks to work for providing the bandwidth for my downloads! Bloody Samsung.

Watched ‘Raising Helen‘ with the others tonight. Absolute crap. No surprise. Still got ‘I, Robot‘ sitting there waiting to be watched. Maybe tomorrow night. Much better, I imagine.

That’ll do for tonight. Goodnight, Inkernet
